'Beyond the Sea, Etruria and Sardinia in a thousand years of history'


The exclusive exhibition on the Etruscans opens tomorrow in Barumini


thanks to theĀ  project realized by


the Barumini Sistema Cultura Foundation


the National Archaeological Museum of Naples and


the Superintendency of Archeology, fine arts and landscape for the metropolitan city of Cagliari and the provinces of Oristano and South Sardinia


 

Over 100 exhibits on display


 

Barumini, 24 May 2022. The exhibition "Beyond the sea, Etruria and Sardinia in a thousand years of history" which traces the Etruscan presence in Sardinia and in Italy, will be inaugurated tomorrow, Wednesday 25 May, at 18.00 in the Centre G.Lilliu in Barumini.

On display are over 100 artifacts from the island, from the Etruscan collection of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, from the Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia, from the Capitoline Museums in Rome, but also from the Archaeological Museum of Florence.

The exhibition, sponsored by the National Institute of Etruscan and Italic Studies, is part of the project that has combined the Barumini Sistema Cultura Foundation and the National Archaeological Museum of Naples thanks to the agreement signed last January to strengthen the paths tourism, archaeological and educational development.

The exhibition, created with the collaboration of the Superintendency of Archeology, fine arts and landscape of the metropolitan city of Cagliari and the provinces of Oristano and South Sardinia, will be attended by: the president of the Barumini Sistema Cultura Foundation, Emanuele Lilliu; the director of the Mann of Naples, Paolo Giulierini; Monica Stochino (Superintendency); Luana Toniolo (Regional Directorate of Museums); Gianfranca Salis (superintendent territory contact person) and Caterina Lilliu (vice president of the Foundation Board) to illustrate the scientific contents of the exhibition. The mayor of Barumini, Michele Zucca, will bring his greetings.
